This international ENVIBRNO fair was organized for the for the first time in 1990. The Czech Republic in connection with the transformation of its centrally planned economy to the market economy had to start to face its ecological problems. Not only the will to solve the unfavorable state of the environment was new - so was the necessity for the market to have the products necessary for such a resolution. From its very beginning the international ENVIBRNO fair was recognized by domestic and foreign companies as an important source of information on this market and as an event which aimed to provide significant help in its development. The ENVIBRNO fair is an important international meeting place for manufacturers, businessmen and experts in environmental technology. The ENVIBRNO fair: due to its importance belongs to the most prestigious fairs in its kind in Eastern and Central Europe; brings together the complex supply and demand in the field of technology for creation and protection of the environment; reflects the situation in the branch of environment and enables establishment of new contacts, information and experience exchange.

Besides the free programme at ENVIBRNO Fair the meetings at the following company's stands were prepared and realized: GEOtest Brno - geological and remediation works for environmental protection, geotechnical and hydrogeological surveys and FORTEX Šumperk - production of waste water treatment plants.

The Workshop was organized as a meeting of experts with lectures on theoretical, technical and practical problems, industrial and exhibition visits and with discussions devoted to the topics of the Workshop.
The Workshop lectures and all discussions were conducted in English. The inquiries of the participants were answered immediately during and/or after lectures.
