The objective of the Workshop was to provide participants from different
developing /transition countries with the topical information in the
following areas:
- Characterization of a current research and development situation
in the Czech Republic, Czech Republic's participation in the 5th
outline programme of the European Union and enforcement of
industry's interests under programme of National policy of research
and development
- Globalization of economy. The role of foreign capital during the
transformation of economy - active pro-investment-oriented policy
- The transformation from the central planned economy to the market
economy
- The role of small and medium - sized enterprises in the process of
transformation of the Czech economy
- Marketing for production and trade needs of firms. Market
analysis: demand and the possibility of influencing it, evaluation
of the competitiveness of firms according to the rules of the OECD
- Introduction of innovative technologies for SME
- Human resources management under conditions of market economy,
increasing of investments into the human factor, knowledge
management
- Guarantee and supporting services for SME
- Information systems - support of SME
- Integrated environmental management in SME
- Financial analysis of investment projects
Technical visits to selected companies and institutions:
- Visit to 43. International Engineering Fair in Brno
- Technical visit to BEST Benesov - production of construction
machines
- Technical visit to hotel Olympik - discussion with the director of
this hotel on privatization and management
- Meeting with representative of Business Development Agency
- Meeting with representatives of Centre for Regional Development
Prague and Euro Info Centre Prague
Cultural visits:
- Prague city sightseeing
- Spa Karlovy Vary

participants from 9 developing/transition countries (Albania,
Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Egypt, Romania, Russia, Tunisia and
Ukraine). |
