The Study Tour programme was devoted to lectures on environmental
methods, processes and equipment for protection of environment which are
at present used in the Czech Republic. The participants had also the
opportunity to visit Czech factories and plants involved in
environmental management (waste water treatment, recycling of wastes and
their treatment, etc.). Technical visits to the following plants were
organized:
- DEKONTA Kladno - one of the leading Czech waste management,
consulting and engineering companies offering a comprehensive and
integrated package of environmental services - and its subsidiary
SPOLIO Usti nad Labem operating a regional landfill and incinerator;
- REC.ing Nachod - company designing, delivering and operating
highly efficient waste water treatment plants offered together with
professional technical assistance for solution of problems with
treatment of waste waters.
Study Tour participants visited the International Environmental Fair
ENVIBRNO which was held for the for 10th time from 30 October to 2
November 2001 in Brno.
Besides the participants' individual programme during ENVIBRNO Fair,
the meetings at the following company's stands were prepared and
realized for the group of Study Tour participants: company FORTEX
Sumperk - producer of waste water treatment plants and company NUCLEA
Trebic - producer of equipment for power supply and ecology - biomass
and waste burning with energetic utilization. The participants had also
the opportunity to meet representatives of a company MEGA Straz pod
Ralskem which provides technologies and complex services in the areas of
water treatment, material surface finishing and ecology, realized with
maximal respect to environment.
One day of the Study Tour programme was devoted to a lecture and
group training of HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study). For execution of
this activity a presence of Mr. Milan Carsky, one of Study Tour
participants, was used. He presented the lecture "Identification
and evaluation of process hazards" and was in charge of the
follow-up group training which included practical examples of risk
evaluation of various processes so the participants had a chance to
familiarize with practical application of these methods.
