The objective of the Study Tour was to make AISU participants acquainted
with Czech achievements and global trends of the steel industry
marketing, marketing strategy and philosophy and major marketing
clusters which impact the competitiveness, quality, effective
restructuring, as well as the introduction of research and development
results into production to achieve sustainable development.
The Study Tour programme included lectures and discussions with the
following topics:
- Overview of Czech iron and steel responses to the market changes
and restructuring;
- Marketing philosophy and strategy, high value customer
relationship management system;
- Iron and Steel industry in the European Union, influence on the
present condition and development of metallurgical sector in Czech
Republic as a prospective member of the European Union;
- Economical globalisation of a market, its influence on metallurgy
development in the world and in the Czech Republic;
- Aspects of the financial management of firms from their
competitiveness point of view, financial analysis (feasibility
study) as a tool for appraising a business plan or an investment
project;
- Marketing and quality control, Marketing and sales, Marketing and
overall management function;
- Requirements and results of adjustments to European and IISI
integrated environmental standards;
- Environmentally Sustainable Development & Competitiveness;
- E-commerce.
Participants obtained two documents: "Marketing value philosophy
of business and modern life-style" and "The global iron and
steel scenario and sustainable development (impact of environment
management on marketing and sales)" as well as technical papers on
the above listed technical topics.
As a part of the Study Tour programme industrial visits to the
following enterprises/companies were prepared and implemented:
1. Thermoprobes manufacturer for foundries and steelworks in Kladno
2. Strojirny POLDI Kladno
3. ZDAS steelworks equipment manufacturer in Zdar nad Sazavou
4. Foundry of METAZ.
